Welcome to #SundaysOnParade!

We’re back to the East Coast at the Magic Kingdom for a street party. In 1985 and 1986, Magic Kingdom threw Mickey’s Street Party. The parade, which added an afternoon dose of Disney fun to Main Street, U.S.A., through fall 1986, featured a bright color scheme of pink, purple, yellow, orange and red, with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck appearing on the lead “party” float. What followed was a cast of 40 Disney characters that included Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear (“Song of the South”), Alice, Tweedledee and Tweedledum (“Alice In Wonderland”), friends from “The Jungle Book” and…

Welcome to #SundaysOnParade!

This week we travel back to Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 1984.

On the 50th anniversary of Donal Duck’s first appearance in ‘The Wise Little Hen’ in 1984, Walt Disney Productions decided to celebrate our favorite duck with parades in Disneyland and Wlat Disney World. A new parade was fashioned and the festivities were presented to those who could not attend on The Magical World of Disney which was hosted by Dick Van Dyke on CBS.

Today is a very special #SundaysOnParade!

We have a surprise two parade line up for all of our time travel bunnies

Up first is the Disney Easter Parade. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter with family and friends.

With an active turn-of-the-century Main Street, U.S.A in 1956, it seemed natural to have an old-fashioned parade, just as small-town residents might have experienced in the day, and what better occasion than Easter? So when Easter fell on this…

Welcome to week two of our #SundaysOnParade!

Today we’re traveling to 1971 in what once was swampland and a dream in the mind of Walt Disney.

This parade ran in 1971 and featured a small marching band dressed in red and white uniforms playing “The Mickey Mouse Club March,” while Mickey Mouse kept the beat on an over-size drum. A large cast of Disney characters followed, including: Dumbo (“Dumbo”); Queen of Hearts and White Rabbit (“Alice In Wonderland”); Thumper and Flower (“Bambi”); Gepetto and Honest John (“Pinocchio”); Snow White, the Seven Dwarfs and the…

Welcome to #SundaysOnParade!
Share with anyone in your life that would enjoy a parade, Disney or a little time travel.

Today we’re traveling to 1975 and the Bicentennial celebration of America.

At Disneyland—and at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World—America on Parade ran from June 14, 1975, through September 6, 1976. Doing double-duty as Disneyland’s afternoon and evening parades, America on Parade displaced the Main Street Electrical Parade for two summers.
Anyone who is old enough to remember 1976 will remember that the American Bicentennial was celebrated as a really big event—and not just at…

Sundays on Parade

Welcome to #SundaysOnParade!

This week we’re traveling to a parade that is in most people’s memories and hearts because it has run most recently. The first showing of this parade in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom was in 1977 and ran until 1991.Then the parade made it’s way back in 1999 until 2001 and again in 2010 until it was sadly retired in 2016.

If you haven’t guessed the parade yet, we’re looking at the Main Street Electrical Parade. Yes I know, you’re likely saying didn’t we just see that, we did but this…

Welcome to #SundaysOnParade!

Today we’re traveling to a very special celebration for a very special person. In 1978 the Magic Kingdom celebrated Mickey Mouse’s 50th Birthday.

Mickey Mouse and the Main Street Philharmonic kicked off the birthday procession, surrounded by banners that read “Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse.” The parade that followed featured plenty of balloons, wrapped gift boxes, party hats, a larger-than-life birthday cards and a 50th birthday cake. And of course, all of Mickey’s friends were marching in line for his special occasion, including Winnie the Pooh and friends, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck,…

They have a wide variety of things as well from, shirts, to skirts, dresses, shorts, hats, jewelry, and handbags! You’ll find this store at the end of the Co Op right across from the little train, or Pin Traders.
