Welcome to #SundaysOnParade!
This week we’re traveling to a parade that is in most people’s memories and hearts because it has run most recently. The first showing of this parade in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom was in 1977 and ran until 1991.Then the parade made it’s way back in 1999 until 2001 and again in 2010 until it was sadly retired in 2016.
If you haven’t guessed the parade yet, we’re looking at the Main Street Electrical Parade. Yes I know, you’re likely saying didn’t we just see that, we did but this is the Walt Disney World version with the more modern floats.
The Main Street Electrical Parade is a regularly scheduled parade, created by Bob Jani and project director Ron Miziker, famous for its long run at Disneyland at the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World at the Magic Kingdom Park. It features floats and live performers covered in thousands of electronically controlled lights and a synchronized soundtrack triggered by radio control along key areas of the parade route.
