Welcome to #SundaysOnParade!
If you’ve been with us since the beginning, welcome back and if this is your first Parade Trip with us then I hope you have a blast and join us again next week. 😀 If you have memories from seeing any of these parades in person, please feel free to share the memories with us. And as always, if you know someone who would enjoy these posts because they love parades, Disney, time travel or history please share with them.
Last week we traveled to Tokyo Disneyland to see the Disney Classics on Parade. This week we’re shooting back to Disneyland for the Blast to the Past parade. The parade ran from 1988 to 1989.
Blast to the Past was the third and final of the themed promotions held park wide. It was a celebration of all things 1950’s. The original 1988 parade was replaced in 1989 with an entirely different version. This may be in part due to copyright issues caused by the inclusion of many TV theme songs and actors dressed as classic TV characters. The 1989 version removed this TV segment, and new theme song was added.
