Welcome to #SundaysOnParade!
If you’ve been with us since the beginning, welcome back and if this is your first Parade Trip with us then I hope you have a blast and join us again next week. 😀 If you have memories from seeing any of these parades in person, please feel free to share the memories with us. And as always, if you know someone who would enjoy these posts because they love parades, Disney, time travel or history please share with them.
Last week we traveled to EPCOT in 1985 to witness the Inauguration parade for President Ronald Reagan. This week we jet set back to Disneyland for their American Gazette parade which ran in 1984 and 1985.
The parade featured all live music, performed by many of Disneyland’s in-house musical groups, and may have been created for the 1984 Olympics, in anticipation of the many foreign visitors. The parade had sections representing different eras in American popular culture, along with lavish costumes and music starting from the 1900’s to the 1980’s. It ran off and on between showings of the Donald Duck Parade in 1984, and the 30th anniversary parade in 1985.
